“Where Lagan stream sings lullaby” … is where we start our musical journey through five centuries of song – from Elizabethan Lute Songs and Shakespeare settings to sparkling gems by Novello and Coward via the towering genius of Purcell and Schubert, with some favourite Irish Folksongs along the way. A good tune and powerful lyrics are our only prerequisites, and we think this selection includes some of the very best.
‘A voice that could charm the angels down from heaven – crystalline performances – delightful and understated, a reminder of how beautiful and beguiling a traditional voice can be’ ‘MUSICIAN’
“‘Anyone for Music’ is an ideal showcase for Olive Simpson’s unique vocal talents. The purity of sound, the phrasing, the enunciation and the tuning are all there for you to enjoy… again and again.” Ward Swingle
I am also lead vocalist on ‘Saylon Dola Chameleon’ which features the wonderful music of Nigel Hess interspersed with some beautiful folksong arrangements and popular television themes. The CD is difficult to find but here are the links to Amazon and Spotify:
